And God spoke to job from the eye of a violent storm...

Who do you suppose carves canyons for the downpours of rain...
And who took charge of the ocean when it gushed forth like a baby from the womb? That was me! I wrapped it in soft clouds and tucked it safely in at night. Then I made a playpen for it. A strong playpen so it could not run loose at night.

Can you find your way to where lightning is lanched?

"Do you know the first thing about the skys constellations and how they affect the things on earth?"
"Have you ever traveled to where the snow is made? Seen the place where hail is stockpiled?"
"Can you get the attention of the clouds and commision a rainshower?"

"Have you ever gotten to the bottom of things? Explored the labyrinthine caves of deep ocean?"
"That bring water to unvisited fields, deserts no one ever lays eyes on. Drenching the usesles wastelands so they are carpeted with grass and wildflowers."

Job Paintings

Working on a series of paintings from the Bible. This is from the book of Job. Job 38. This is when God was confronting Job on who he was and who God is. This is from verse 12. Its good to read this and remind ourselves on who really created what we copy.

Verse 12 the "And have you ever ordered morning, 'Get up!' Told dawn 'Get to work!'

A small study of the road to deer harbor.

Sailboat 12x12

Tis is a classic look for european sailboats. Edgar payne used these classic work boats in many of his works. Still payne is one of my all time favorite artists.

Small Boat

Started doing some boats again. This is a little 5x5 miniature. Love the small quick direct feel of the brush strokes. Its also on masonite which adds to the texture.

Small dusk Vineyard

A small vineyard painting at dusk for a winery show. The colors of the mountains in the background are my favorite parts of this piece.

spring to summer

This is another compositional sketch that I am possibly going big on. It is from eastern Washington in the spring.

rooster mixed media

Rooster sketch on gessoed newsprint on board. this was a classroom demo and is oil paint. Sorry I have not been blogging much. I have had some upheavals in my marriage that have been something I have had to deal with. Still not completely sure what will happen but I am continuing to try to stick close to my foundations of faith and move forward. Those of you who are prayer people I would covet your prayers.
